How does TruCheck™ Intelli work?
TruCheck™ Intelli is a simple blood test designed to detect Circulating Tumour Cells (CTCs), cells that may be shed into the bloodstream by a solid tumour. Their presence can indicate a higher risk of an underlying solid organ cancer, supporting earlier risk identification before any clinical symptoms appear.
The test can distinguish up to 70 types of solid tumours, together accounting for approximately 81% of all cancer cases and 84% of cancer-related deaths across Europe. It does not detect blood cancers, such as leukaemia, or cancers of the lymphatic system, such as lymphoma, and is designed to work alongside – not replace – guideline-recommended screening such as mammography or colonoscopy.

Is early cancer screening right for me?
TruCheck™ Intelli is designed for men and women aged 40 and older who have never been diagnosed with cancer and are currently asymptomatic, with no clinical or radiological suspicion of disease. It may also be considered from age 35 for those with hereditary risk factors, a family history of cancer, or known carcinogen exposure.
It isn’t suitable for current or past cancer patients, those in remission, immunocompromised individuals, pregnant patients, or anyone with certain blood-related conditions. Because eligibility depends on individual circumstances, we recommend booking a consultation to find out whether the test is appropriate for you.
Is TruCheck™ Intelli safe and accurate?
TruCheck™ Intelli involves a standard blood draw, there is no additional risk beyond a routine blood test. Before proceeding, our clinicians ensure you fully understand your results and their limitations, so you can make an informed decision with confidence.
In clinical studies, the test has shown a sensitivity of 88.24% (correctly identifying 88 of 100 cancer cases) and a specificity of 96.3% (correctly identifying 96 of 100 cancer-free individuals). As with any screening test, false positives and false negatives can occur, in either case, we ensure you understand exactly what additional testing may be needed to clarify your result.
What happens after my test?
There is no downtime associated with TruCheck™ Intelli, you can resume your normal activities immediately after your blood sample is taken.
Results are interpreted directly with one of our clinicians, who will explain clearly what your result means and what, if anything, happens next. A “CTCs Not Detected” result points to lower risk, with annual re-testing recommended for ongoing monitoring. A “CTCs Detected” result indicates increased risk and is followed by guidance on appropriate next steps, such as further imaging or specialist referral.
How long is my result valid for?
A TruCheck™ Intelli result reflects your risk status at the time of testing, it is not a permanent guarantee. For that reason, annual retesting is recommended for patients who receive a “CTCs Not Detected” result so that ongoing risk monitoring stays current as part of your regular health routine.

What’s the difference between screening and diagnosis? Screening identifies who may be at higher risk and need further investigation, it does not confirm cancer. A diagnosis can only be reached through further clinical evaluation, such as imaging or biopsy, following a positive screening result.
Is there anything else I should know before testing? Follow-up investigation after a positive result can sometimes show no evidence of cancer. In this situation, your clinician may recommend monitoring and repeat testing rather than further immediate intervention. We encourage you to discuss this possibility with our team before proceeding.
